Logo of the SFBT

The SimforumBatTeam, short SFBT, was founded by a couple of members in February 2005. The home of the SFBT first was the SimsZone, where you could load the created BATs and LOTs. A few years since 2005 the SFBT started a new homepage, the SimCityPlaza with a lot of tutorials for the german community. Additionally to the homepage a downloadarea was made, the SimCityKurier. There you find revisited BATs and things of the SFBT.

Products & Projects

The most-known products of the SFB-Team are the Plattenbau-series by ChP and the houses from Hamburg, made by stephenhh. Also the Euro-Road-Texture-Mod has a lot of fans in the community, because it gives the roads typical european white stripes. Before the modification the roads only had the two yellow stripes from America.

Plattenbau with red balconies

The first blueprints for the Plattenbau buildings in the former GDR can be traced back to the Bauhaus style. In the 70's and 80's, an immense demand for residential buildings had to be satisfied somehow. Highrises were the answer to accommodate as many people as possible on a given lot size. Often poor families lived in these highrises, the lot have been implemented as R-§. With this technique a lot of flats were constructed in a faster way than before. Also a lot of people could live in such a highrise. Normally they stand in one district, and often had a swimming hall, restaurants, parks, childhoods and garages. Each flat looks exactly the same, only the interieur was different. A example for this type of building is the Plattenbau Unité d'habitation in Berlin, constructed of Le Corbusier. It was an example for most of the Plattenbaus in the world, built in 1947. A short form of Plattenbau in german is "Platte", the walls were sticked on the wall befor, like Lego.

Another products are the different styled parks of ArkenbergeJoe, and his viaducts for the elevated rail in three different colours, the Euro-Road-Texture-Mod, as an adition to the NAM or the catenaries made by Kenworth. He made rail stations which fit to the NAM bridges, too. Andreas, Chrisim and Schleicher are working together with the NAM-team. Today the main page, where you can find most of the SFBT members, is the german community SimForum.de.

In the making are a lot of things, like Tram-in-Road by Chrisim and Schleicher, german rail signals and freight wagons by royal, typical european farm-houses by voltaic, new loading stations by MatheMan and new german locomotives by Kenworth.
