Exemplars are some of the most common and most important files in terms of game functionality, and some understanding of them is necessary to undertake most modding projects. They affect buildings, the game's internal simulators, tuning parameters, and transit networks.
Exemplar Types
Type | Use |
---|---|
00 | The use of T00 exemplars is relatively unknown. |
01 | T01 exemplars are better known as Tuning Exemplars. These control various game properties such as transit network slopes. |
02 | T02 exemplars are Building Exemplars. |
03 | T03 exemplars are RCI Exemplars. |
04 | T04 exemplars are Developer Exemplars. |
05 | Type05 exemplars are Simulator Exemplars. These are among the most critical to game functionality, and include among them the Demand Simulator and the Traffic Simulator. |
06 | Type06 exemplars are Road Exemplars. These are generally used for tunnel entrance models. |
07 | Type07 exemplars are Bridge Exemplars, and are used to specify bridge properties. |
08 | Type 08 exemplars are Misc Network Exemplars. |
09 | |
0A | Type 0A exemplars are Rail Exemplars. |
0B | Type 0B exemplars are Highway Exemplars, used to reference transit models. They are among the most important exemplars used in the transit-modding world. Virtually all NAM Puzzle Pieces, as well as draggable model-based functionality, as exemplified by the High Speed Rail mod, use Type 0B exemplars. |
0C | Type 0C exemplars are Powerline Exemplars. |
0D | Type 0D exemplars are Terrain Exemplars. |
0E | Type 0E exemplars are Ordinance Exemplars. |
0F | Type 0F exemplars are Flora/Fauna Exemplars. |
10 | Type 10 exemplars are LotConfiguration Exemplars, and are used to specify the location of props, textures and buildings on Lots, along with other properties. |
11 | Type 11 exemplars are Foundation Exemplars. |
13 | Type 13 exemplars are Lighting Exemplars. |
15 | Type 15 exemplars are LotRetainingWall Exemplars. |
16 | Type 16 exemplars are Vehicle Exemplars, used to reference automata. |
17 | Type 17 exemplars are Pedestrian Exemplars, used to reference pedestrian automata. |
18 | Type 18 exemplars are Aircraft Exemplars. |
1E | Type 1E exemplars are Prop Exemplars. |
1F | Type 1F exemplars are Construction Exemplars. |
20 | Type 20 exemplars are Automata Tuning Exemplars. |
21 | These Exemplars are often called Network Lots, they are used to add props rendered in BAT (isometric) to networks, such as traffic lights and lamp posts. These examplars differ from Lot exemplars in that they don't allow for base or overlay textures, and obviously can't be Transit Enabled. |
22 | Type 22 exemplars are Disaster Exemplars. |
23 | Type 23 exemplars are DataView Exemplars. |
24 | Type 24 exemplars are Crime Exemplars. |
25 | Type 25 exemplars are Audio Exemplars. |
27 | Type 27 exemplars are God Mode Exemplars. |
28 | Type 28 exemplars are Mayor Mode Exemplars. |
2A | Type 2A exemplars are Trend Bar Exemplars. |
2b | Type 2B exemplars are Graph Control Exemplars. |
