RCI Zones are what the mayor uses to develop his/her city. Using RCI zones allocates that development of a certain zone type (whether its residential, commercial or industrial) buildings can be constructed there.
RCI zones can further be divided up into their density. The higher the density, the more costly the tiles are to zone.
RCI zones need to be powered and have direct road connections in order to develop. Water is optional, but is needed for wealthier, denser buildings to develop. It is also good to have government services (police, schools, etc) and parks near zones to increase their YIMBY, land value and desirability.
Residential Zones
-Light residential: single family homes and the lot.
-Medium residential: small apartment complexes and townhouses.
-Dense residential: large apartment complexes and projects.
Commercial Zones
-Light commercial: small shops and office complexes.
-Medium commercial: average-sized shops and offices.
-Dense commercial: large shops and office towers.
Industrial Zones
-Agricultural: farms and orchards. Requires a lot of land and specific conditions to grow.
-Medium industrial: small factories and assembly plants. High-tech industry requires specific conditions to grow.
