This wiki has special user groups which will be more familiar than the default user groups because they are similar to the different user groups in use on most forums.
N.B. Patrolling - when an edit is made, it will be marked as 'unpatrolled' (red exclamation mark in recent changes) and until someone who has the ability to 'patrol' can mark it as legitimate.
Group | Privileges | Who can give | Status |
---|---|---|---|
Admin | Everything not encompassed by one of the auxiliary roles. | Admins | Active |
Moderator | Can do everything an editor can do (see below), and is also able to block users and delete articles. | Admins, moderators | Active |
Editor | Can protect and move pages, can re-upload images (overwrite existing ones) and is allowed to patrol. Editors can also suppress redirects when moving pages. Edits made by an editor are automatically 'patrolled' (i.e. are not marked in the recent changes log). | Admins, moderators, bureaucrats. | Active |
Email-confirmed user | This is a user who has confirmed their email address, they will be allowed to re-upload images. | Admins, moderators, editors, bureaucrats | Active |
User | This is the basic user, they can create and edit pages and upload images. | Admins, moderators, editors, bureaucrats | Active |
Bureaucrat | This is the default position which allows users to assign other users any group. | Admins | Inactive Deprecated |
Sysop | This is the default version of an admin/moderator. | Admins | Inactive Deprecated |
Auxilary roles | |||
Developer | An auxiliary role, which should granted in tandem with another role (such as moderator/admin). It allows users with this role to lock the wiki's database, either for maintenance, or to combat widespread vandalism. | Admins | Active |
Arbitrator | An auxiliary role, which should granted in tandem with another role (such as moderator/admin). It allows users with this role to access information such as a User's IP address, and to remove certain page revisions (such as those containing personal information) from the page history. This role is not granted without plenty of thought about the candidates and implies a high level of trust in those who are granted it. | Admins | Active |
