The Public Parking Garage is a Transport building that provides Car services, added in the Rush Hour expansion pack.
Parking Garages are designed to allow Sims to park their cars to board Mass Transit. They are required for Sims looking to drive to a Bus Stop, Elevated Rail Station, Subway Station or Monorail Station to be able to transfer correctly. The transfer from Car to Pedestrian is one-way only, so it is not unusual to see Sims using Parking Garages taking a different, All-Car route home from work in the evening.

The parking capacity stated in the catalogue is far lower than the actual capacity.
