The Freight Train Station is a Transport building that provides Freight rail services.

Freight Stations are designed to be placed alongside the Rail Network, allowing Freight to be transferred from Freight Trucks to Freight Trains in a one-way operation. A side effect is that, in an unmodded game, once Freight boards a train, it must leave the city by train.

In the NAM

In NAM 36, the Freight Train Station transships freight in both directions, from road to rail, and also from rail to road. Thus the NAM Freight Train Station can be used in conjunction with the Maxis Seaport to transfer freight from rail, to road, then to Seaport.
