The Natural Gas Power Plant is a utility building that produces Power for your Sims.
Power Plants are designed to be connected to zones and buildings with Power Lines, but do not have to be as they provide power to other buildings within a three-tile radius and those buildings may relay that power to other buildings in another three-tile radius and so on.
The Natural Gas Power Plant is the more expensive power solutions in SimCity 4, dearer than the Wind Power Plant in the short term, but becoming cheaper in the long term.
It is positioned between the Wind Power Plant, Waste to Energy Plant and Solar Power Plant in power production, producing less pollution than the Waste to Energy Plant but more than the Solar and Wind plants.
The Natural Gas Power Plant can be seen as a clean alternative to the Coal Power Plant or Oil Power Plant as it costs about the same, however it produces half of the power of the Coal Power Plant.
